Infrastructure that survives the building it is in

Industrial buildings destroy cabling installed to office standards. Dust gets into unsealed enclosures, wash-down reaches connections that were never rated for it, vibration works terminations loose over months, and anything mounted below mast height meets a forklift eventually.

The specification has to match the environment rather than the budget line. That means rated enclosures, appropriate jacketing, mechanical protection where traffic runs, and pathways routed away from heat and moving plant even when the direct route is shorter.
