Rack & Stack Installation

Mount, power, cable and label network, compute and storage hardware to a documented rack standard, in colocation halls or building IDF closets.

Physical installation done to a drawing, not to taste

Rack and stack is the part of a build where small decisions become permanent. Which rack unit a switch lands in, which side the power cords dress to, whether the fiber has enough bend radius behind the cable manager. None of it is difficult and all of it is expensive to redo once forty devices sit above it.

We install to an elevation drawing and a labeling scheme agreed before the first screw. If you do not have one, we will draft it from the equipment list and send it back for approval rather than inventing a standard on the floor.

Included in a rack build

  • Cage nuts, rails, shelves and blanking panels to the elevation
  • Dual-feed PDU mounting, cord routing and per-circuit load balance
  • Copper, fiber and console cabling with slack managed at both ends
  • Bonding to the rack ground bar and cabinet grounding continuity

The documentation is what makes the next person able to work in your cabinet safely.

As-built elevationThe drawing corrected to where equipment physically landed, RU by RU.
Port and patch scheduleEvery cable end recorded with its label, in both cabinets where it applies.
Power distribution recordWhich device is on which PDU and feed, with measured draw per circuit.
Cabinet photographsFront, rear and overhead once dressing is complete and the doors close.

Sequence on the floor

Working front to back and bottom to top keeps later devices from being installed over earlier cabling.

Set

Level cabinets, verify grounding and install rails to the elevation.

Mount

Place hardware bottom-up so weight and cabling stay accessible.

Dress

Route power and data on separate paths with slack at both terminations.

Record

Label, photograph and reconcile the as-built against the drawing.
