Distributed Offices

Open, relocate and consolidate offices on a repeatable build, so a twelve-person site gets the same standard as headquarters without a project team.

Small offices, standard build, no local IT

Distributed offices fail on consistency. Each one was opened by whoever was available, using whatever the local supplier stocked, so eleven sites have eleven different edge configurations and no two patch panels are labeled the same way. Support then costs far more than the offices ever saved.

A standard build fixes this going forward. One edge configuration, one wireless design scaled by headcount, one labeling scheme, and a kit that arrives complete so the office opens on the date the lease says it opens.

Per-office scope

  • Comms room or cabinet, patching, power and labeling to one standard
  • Wireless sized by headcount and floor plate rather than guessed
  • Circuit ordering, handoff and edge equipment install
  • Desk, meeting-room and printer connectivity

Office handover

The record is what lets a remote team support a site nobody from IT has visited.

Patch and outlet scheduleEvery desk and room outlet mapped to its panel port.
Circuit detailProvider, reference, handoff location and support contacts.
Wireless resultMeasured coverage across the occupied floor plate.

Opening an office

The build is the same every time, which is what makes the date predictable.

Standardize

Apply the agreed build rather than designing each office fresh.

Order

Place circuits early, since they set the critical path.

Fit

Install cabinet, cabling and wireless before furniture arrives.

Open

Prove connectivity from real desks before day one.

Situations this covers

The standard build pays off from roughly the third office onward.

  • New office openings with a fixed lease start date
  • Relocations where the old site must run until the new one works
  • Consolidations merging several small offices into one
  • Retrofitting a standard onto offices opened ad hoc
